About Early Childhood Council of Boulder County

Our Mission

To serve as a catalyst for improving early childhood care and education systems so all children flourish.

Our Vision

All children have equitable access to high-quality early childhood experiences that provide a foundation for a thriving community.

A Brief History

The Early Childhood Council of Boulder County has been in operation since 1999, originally a division of the Boulder County government and then evolved into an independent 501(c)(3) in 2010. ECCBC is a part of a 35-network of Early Childhood Councils across the state of Colorado. Early Childhood Councils were created in state statute and were designed to support local child care infrastructure. Every local Early Childhood Council looks a bit different, as they are designed to meet the needs of the community they serve and enhance the local child care system. Today, ECCBC is the county’s leading early childhood coordinating organization, dedicated to serving parents, child care providers and the community/child care ecosystem as a whole.
