Task Force Charge: 1) To estimate the cost to implement a comprehensive early childhood system, which has programs and services in all four domains of early childhood (health, mental health, parent support and early literacy) as well as wrap around services such as transportation, developmental screenings, and access to mental health consultation. 2) Define what is meant by 'affordable' early care and education.
Membership: A group of local finance experts from Boulder County as well as from Colorado are being identified to serve on the Finance Task Force. These individuals have expertise in: child care and early education costs, local economic conditions and future projections, state economic conditions and forecasts, as well as financing strategies.

Timetable: The Task Force was convened in August of 2009 and has completed their work in October 2010 by making recommendations to the ECCBC Board of Directors. In December 2010, at their annual strategic planning retreat, the Board will determine what the ‘next steps’ are in the development, funding and implementation of the comprehensive early childhood system for Boulder County.
